Money ... do we need it?
At this moment in time, yes we do.
But do we need it for everything? No we don't.
LETS South is a community based group running in Southern Adelaide and the Fleurieu Peninsula for the past 19 years. Members use virtual "LETS dollars" thus allowing them to exchange and barter for goods and services within the community and therefore do their bit to withdraw their energy from the monetary system which seeks to maintain the current system of slavery and oppression of all people, by encouraging them to work for money and not the benefit of each other ...
The old adage "greed is good" is actually not good if you are someone who values honor, equality and human rights.
A little bit of research in to the history of money may convince you of this fact.
This blog will be pointing out the necessities to an alternative to the monetary system via documentaries and articles while also bringing attention to the benefits of community, genuine barter and trade, sustainability and everything else the philosophy of LETS embraces.
It is the intention of this blogger to help bring about a world of small LETS communities where national currency, that is the paper notes created by independent corporations such as the Australian Federal Reserve whose only obligation is to meet the needs of their shareholders (believe it or not this is the system that is in place now), is limited to only the bare necessities.
Interesting facts about Banks
The Banks are private corporations which run solely for profit and not for the welfare of the people who use them.
Short History of Money
Where as money used to be a receipt for gold for the past 80 years money creation has been changed so that banks use a system called "fractional reserve banking" in which they can create $9 from the deposit of $1. See Money as Debt, The Money Masters and Zeitgeist Addendum in the Video section of this blog.
Strange But True
What is also harder to believe but absolutely true is that your signature on any loan contract funds the loan. As money is no longer backed by gold it only has perceived value. Therefore it is your hard work via a signed "promise to pay" note which the bank then stores in its vaults and removes to trade, which has value.
A signed loan contract of $1000 is worth $1000 as it is a promise to pay. Therefore when you pay the bank the $1000 PLUS the interest they then have assets worth $2000, plus the interest you pay on that loan.
Is interest on a loan even lawful?
Usury (or interest) is legal but not lawful! It is not supported under common law!
When something is illegal it means a statute or legislation passed by parliament prohibits it but, that does not mean it is unlawful, as an unlawful act is one which causes harm or loss. When something is unlawful it is always illegal as it always causes some sort of harm or loss. (Statutes are given force of law but can only apply to corporations and employees of corporations ... but that is another story, see "Meet Your Strawman" in the videos section for more of that.)
Statute Law differs from Common Law and it is important to know this. Common Law which can be traced back to the Magna Carta and Bill of Rights - it represents the law shared by the people (e.g. do not harm another man or woman).
As the Queen swore an oath to uphold the Common law she is therefore breaking the law regarding usury and so are the Governments of all countries with the Monarch in place.
As there are also references to Usury in the Bible (God is not a fan of usury either) the support of this unlawful act of banks placing interest on loans makes it clear that the corruption runs very deep and our perceived leaders flagrantly ignore the warning signs.
This information about Banks is suppressed by the media and supported by Government - it is also ignored by the majority. A little research of your own and view of the resources from this website may assist you in seeing a few incredible truths about the system of money creation and distribution.
The system remains in place because very few question how it really works, research it themselves, ask the questions to the banks for absolute proof and then take action to create a better world - that action is withdrawing our energy from the current monetary system - simply because the monetary system is totally based on fraud and is responsible for creating a culture within every community which breeds unnatural competition which stems from because with this system someone will always will always lose out and go broke.
How is this so?
The current Federal monetary system creates the money from thin air (see fractional reserve banking) however money is only born into existence and enters society through the creation of loans (that is why it is referred to as debt notes by those in the know). When interest is placed on top of each loan it becomes impossible to pay back that loan without someone else who has been loaned money losing out somewhere around the world.
Because there is a lack of money to pay all debts, the money which is available is not in abundance, and therefore communities can always be manipulated to fight one another for it.
LETS is the real solution in the present day. It keeps the money in the community to support local business and it is based on value not debt. All LETS dollars are exchanged for something of value and are created from membership not loans.
